The overall theme is isekai but as written above, SSKFW explores a darker and more pathological side of human beings. His cult are always looking for otherworlders to detain and question. His cult worships the Goddess of Darkness. Leonhart appears early in the plot and is a member of the Brotherhood of Darkness or Dark Brotherhood. Kiver appears later in the plot but becomes an essential character in the four man squad composed of the other members Ryu Hanbin, Atisse, Ephyr. Atisse also has a peculiar past that plays a more prominent role later in the plot. Her development was quite a shocker.Ītisse is another character that Ryu Hanbin also meets soon. She has quite a peculiar past that lead to her predicament with Ryu Hanbin first meet her. Ephyr is the first creature Ryu Hanbin meets. The main cast is small with plenty of side characters. The cast all come from very interesting and diverse background. From a Rath'nian perspective, since Ryu Hanbin is an otherworlder, he is viewed as a villain, but the people he's with, they view him as a hero. Other isekai showcase positive interactions between Earthlings in a fantasy world with notable exception to the main protagonist in FFF-Rank Trash Hero. It's exactly these points that has made SSKFW psychologically deeper. Otherworlders are a subject of terror and historic trauma for that Rath'nians. I especially enjoy how Rath'nian lore is used to hide Ryu Hanbin's identity from the Rath'nians. The first creature he meets, he treats well even though his daily routine for the past twenty years involved slaughtering hell dogs and eating their flesh and drinking their blood. His transportation to Rath'na was a big shock. He lived isolated yet his sanity persevere. The time he spent there changed him innately as a human. Ryu Hanbin is an extremely character that suffers from extreme trauma while spending time in Thelha Rath'na. I don't know how South Koreans are like meaning their socio-cultural behavior, mannerism and the way they think. It's what SOON-Q and YKB has spun different elements to narrate a story about a South Korean who becomes a muscle monster hero that saved the world. It's up to the protagonists to stop them. Generally though, the plot centers on self-righteous antagonists who attain godhood to make the world. Due to this event, Rath'nians see all otherworlders are dangerous and view any of them with great suspicion. Four heroes appeared and defeated Great Earth. What the Earthlings did was they banded together to form a guild called Great Earth, and Great Earth sought to kill the Goddesses of Rath'na. And this is the attractive piece about story. Other isekai stories do not touch upon the psychological impacts of leveling up along with the potential pathological effects. What I mean is that subplot involves humans translating into a different world and the impact. The subplot adds a great deal of main plot. Ryu Hanbin not the typical hero and SSKFW is not a typical isekai either. Survival of the Sword King in a Fantasy World (SSKFW) is my favorite isekai as it breaths fresh air. Isekai are very popular but not a lot of them are good. From there, Ryu Hanbin begins his survival in a fantasy world as a super powered level 5 veteran. In order to cover his own rear-end and save his employment, he forcefully advances Ryu Hanbin to the next area. After 20 some years, one of the employees overseeing the transportation and transmission of the guideline discover Ryu Hanbin's profile with some junk. In this iseki newbie area, the monsters scale with the player's strength. Ryu Hanbin needs to reach level 5 in order to reach the Rath'na continent and so he spends 20 hellish years in isolation in the newbie area. His RPG system works well only up to level 4 and upon leveling up to level 5, he immediately restarts from level 1 albeit retaining all his stats. But our hero faces an unfortunate turn of events. Our hero of our story, Ryu Hanbin, comes from South Korea and among countless others, get transported to Thelha Rath'na.
